History

The Community Council of Greater Dallas has made a difference in the local community since 1940. One challenge plaguing many residents of Dallas County is a persistent lack of transportation options for older adults and people with disabilities.

In June 2009, the Community Council of Greater Dallas and the Dallas Area Agency on Aging created the Community Transportation Network to address the needs of people with transportation limitations to help them get to where they want to go and fill gaps in service.

With the help of North Central Texas Council Governments, more than 90 private, public, non-profit, and faith-based organizations have answered the call to improve access to safe, reliable, accessible and affordable transportation.
